Why host your own Arma 3 server?
Arma 3 is the milsim sandbox: 290 square kilometres of Altis, hundreds of vehicles and weapons, and a modding scene that has built everything from Antistasi and King of the Hill to full Star Wars conversions. A server of your own runs your unit's missions and mod list, persistently, with the settings and the difficulty you decide on.
Arma 3 is one of the most CPU-bound games to host: a mission with AI and scripts lives on one fast core, and memory grows with the mod list. Our plans run on AMD Ryzen CPUs with high single-core clocks, DDR5 memory and NVMe storage for the 50 GB plus of mods a modern unit carries, behind VibeSHIELD DDoS protection. The server is online within minutes of ordering.
Which Arma 3 plan do you need?
Player count matters less than what the mission does. AI, scripts and mods decide the load:
Vanilla co-op: Arma I to II
2 to 4 GB for a vanilla or lightly modded co-op server with up to 20 players and a few AI squads.
Modded units: Arma III to IV
6 to 8 GB and more threads for CBA, ACE and RHS with 20 to 50 players, Antistasi or King of the Hill, and room for a headless client.
Large operations: Arma V to VI
10 to 12 GB and six threads for 50 to 100 players, big mod lists, Zeus operations and headless clients taking the AI load. Upgrading keeps your mods and missions.
Mods, missions and the tools units use
Your server is a normal Arma 3 dedicated server with full file access.
Steam Workshop mods
Add the Workshop IDs of your mod list to the startup settings and the server downloads and loads them; keys are handled so signed clients can join. CBA, ACE, RHS, TFAR and ACRE all work.Missions and rotations
Upload .pbo missions to mpmissions over SFTP and set the rotation and parameters in server.cfg. Antistasi, Liberation, King of the Hill, Exile and your own Eden missions all run.Headless clients and BattlEye
Run a headless client on the same server to move AI off the main thread, enable BattlEye and set your admin password and difficulty in server.cfg and the profile.
Arma 3 server locations worldwide
Low ping is half the fun. Our Arma 3 servers run in 15 datacenters across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Oceania and Africa, every one on the same AMD Ryzen hardware with NVMe storage and behind VibeSHIELD, our own DDoS protection network with 17 Tb/s of mitigation capacity. You pick the location at checkout, and the latency checker below shows your real ping to each one before you order.
Outgrown your first choice? Our team moves your server to another location on request, with your files intact, so the location you start in is never a lock-in.
Your first steps after ordering
The server is delivered installed and running a vanilla mission. Getting your unit's server live takes a few steps:
- 1Set the hostname, password and admin password in server.cfg
- 2Add your Workshop mod IDs to the startup settings
- 3Upload your missions to mpmissions over SFTP
- 4Set the mission rotation and difficulty
- 5Enable BattlEye and restart from the panel
- 6Fix a server that is missing from the browserHelp centre
Switching from another Arma 3 host?
An Arma 3 server is its mpmissions folder, the config files and the profile with the difficulty, plus the mod list. Upload the files over SFTP, enter the same Workshop IDs in the startup settings, restart, and your missions and settings are back. Mods download fresh, so a big mod list takes a little while the first time.
- 1
Download your mpmissions, server.cfg, basic.cfg and profile
- 2
Upload them over SFTP and enter the same mod list
- 3
Restart and have your unit verify their mod lists match

DDoS protection
VibeSHIELD, our globally anycasted DDoS-protected network, now spans 46 scrubbing locations worldwide. Every point of presence filters traffic the instant it lands, stopping attacks as close to the source as possible, long before they ever reach your server.
All 46 locations combine into one unified DDoS-protected fabric, so the full capacity of the entire network backs every individual server. Layer that on top of custom game-aware filtering, tuned for the protocols our customers actually use, and it doesn't matter how big the attack is or how long it lasts. Your players stay connected.
