How to Make Yourself Admin on Your Eco Server

ECO1 min readUpdated Oct 22, 2026

Eco keeps its admins in a configuration file on the server. Add your id, restart, and you have the admin commands in the chat and the admin pages of Eco's web interface.

Find Your Id

  • Steam: your SteamID64, the 17 digit number of your Steam profile. With a custom profile URL, paste it into a site such as steamid.io to get the number.
  • Strange Loop account: your username at play.eco works as well.

Add Yourself to the Admin List

  • Log in to your game panel and click your Eco server.
  • Open Files, go to the Configs folder and open Users.eco.
  • Find the "Admins" list and add your id or username as an entry, for example "Admins": ["76561198000000000"]. Keep the quotes and commas as in the file.
  • Save and restart the server. Eco reads the file on start.

Use the Admin Commands

  • In the game chat, commands start with a slash. /help lists what you can do; common ones are /give, /skills, /teleport and the /manage commands for players.
  • The same file has a "WhiteList" and a "BlackList" for who may join and who may not.

Good to Know

  • Admins are visible. Eco marks admins in the player list, and admin actions are part of the game's records. Promote only people you trust with the economy.
  • The web interface of the server has admin pages too, once you are logged in there as an admin.
  • The Players page in the panel shows who is online; for kicks and bans use the chat commands or the lists in Users.eco.

Finished

You are admin. The next stop is the meteor, world size and difficulty.
