How to Connect to Your Bedrock Server

Minecraft Bedrock2 min readUpdated Aug 31, 2026

Your Bedrock server is running and you need to get into it. On Windows, Android and iOS you can add the server directly in Minecraft, and it takes about a minute. Consoles are a different story, covered in joining on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch.

Find Your Server Address

  • Log in to your game panel and click your Bedrock server.
  • On the Console page, the SERVER panel on the left shows ADDRESS as an IP and a port, for example 31.56.25.106:19132.
  • Bedrock splits these into two separate boxes in game, so note both parts. The address is the number before the colon, the port is the number after it.
  • Check the status reads RUNNING. If not, press Start and wait for the console to finish loading.

Add the Server in Minecraft

  • Start Minecraft, press Play, and open the Servers tab.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the list and choose Add Server.
  • Server Name can be anything you like.
  • Server Address is the IP only, with no port and no colon.
  • Port is the number after the colon, usually 19132.
  • Save, and your server appears at the bottom of the Servers list. Select it and press Join Server.

If It Says the Version Does Not Match

  • Bedrock updates itself through the store, so your players' game can update before your server has.
  • Your server updates when it starts. Go to Console and press Restart, then try again.
  • The Versions page shows whether you are on the latest release, and lets you install an older build to match a client that has not updated. See how to change your version.
  • Until the server is on the same version, nobody can join.

Good to Know

  • The port is separate on Bedrock. This is the most common mistake. Pasting 31.56.25.106:19132 into the address box does not work. The colon and everything after it belong in the Port box.
  • Bedrock and Java are different servers. A Bedrock client cannot join a Java server and the other way round. See Java or Bedrock, which server do you need.
  • The server stays in the list. You only add it once. It sits under Servers every time you play.
  • The name in the list is yours to set. What players see is Server name on the Game Settings page, not what you typed when adding it. See your Bedrock server settings.
  • If it says you are not allowed, that is the allowlist. Somebody has to add you on the Players page first. See how to manage players.

Finished

You are on your server. If somebody in your group is on a console, they cannot add a server this way and need the console instructions instead. If a player on Windows or mobile still cannot get in, read players cannot connect.
